Breaking Up to air on PBS

Jeff Burns's short film Breaking Up will get its broadcast premiere when it airs July 3 at 10:00 p.m. on WMHT Channel 17, the PBS station for eastern New York and western New England. The film was chosen to be part of the station's new TVFilm series, which is showcasing the work of independent filmmakers in upstate New York. The series kicked off June 12 and airs every Thursday at 10:00 p.m. until July 17. Interviews with the filmmakers are featured in each episode. The July 3 episode will rebroadcast on July 4 at midnight. You can also watch the films and interviews online at the WMHT website. The station has done a great job of assembling an excellent selection of short films and insightful interviews with the filmmakers. The series is definitely worth checking out! Indies at the Madison Beat Hollywood

"Indies at the Madison," a collection of six independent short films from local filmmakers, out performed six Hollywood films at the Madison Theater in Albany, NY. The special week-long event was orgnaized by Jeff Burns and featured Burns's film Breaking Up and five other shorts: Silver Lining by Ben Alpi, Four by Michalina Almindo, Good and Clean by Kevin Dobies, Boxed In by Joy E. Reed, and Waste of Candy by Terry J. Field and Frank D'Andrea. The independent shorts sold more than three times as many tickets as any of the six Hollywood films playing at the theater. The audience had a great time, with nearly everyone in attendance remarking how impressed they were with the films and how much they enjoyed the screening. Huge thanks to Jay Pregent at the Madison Theater and everyone who came out and supported local independent film.

First Night Saratoga and Emerging Filmmakers Series Feature Breaking Up

On New Year's Eve, Breaking Up screened at The Saratoga Arts Council as part of the First Night Saratoga Independent Film Forum. The annual First Night festivities draw thousands of people to Saratoga Springs, NY, where the entertainment includes not just film but music, improv, magic, and storytelling. Many of the cast and crew joined Director Jeff Burns for Q&A after the screening. Local filmmakers Chris Ricci, David Impicciatore, and Joy E. Reed also showed their work in this great event organized by Karen Christina Jones.

Breaking Up continued its run by playing at the Emerging Filmmakers Series on January 28. This ongoing monthy series at The Little Theatres in Rochester, NY features short films from New York State filmmakers. This marked Jeff Burns's third film to screen at the series. Chasing Fate and More Than Friends? are his other films that have been featured.

Breaking Up at Boston Film Night

On September 22, Breaking Up screened at Boston Film Night, an annual screening and networking event held in Somerville, MA (just outside of Boston). Over 400 people came out to watch the 90-minute program of short films from across the northeast. Director Jeff Burns participated in the Q&A session held with the filmmakers after the screening. Breaking Up Screens at Two Festivals

Jeff Burns's short film Breaking Up recently screened at two festivals: the Tosca Short Film and Video Mini-Festival and the Digital Dreams Festival. The Tosca Festival was held on August 15 at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY. This was the first short film festival put on by the Troy Cinema and Visual Arts Group and featured four other short films from filmmakers based in the Capital Region of New York. The film played to a packed house and received a great response. The Digital Dreams Festival was held in Rome, NY on September 1 and featured short and feature films from across the United States.

Breaking Up on Capital News 9

Capital News 9, Albany's 24-hour news station, recently aired a segment on Knightsfall Productions's current short, Breaking Up. The two-minute segment, part of a four-part series called "Close-up on the Arts," featured behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot and interviews with Writer/Director Jeff Burns and Executive Producer Michalina Almindo. The piece also focused on Independent Artists Collaborative (IAC), a group of filmmakers and actors in the Kingston, NY area. Breaking Up was the first film done by IAC. Chronogram Features Breaking Up

Breaking Up Now Online

Breaking Up, the latest film from Jeff Burns, is now online. The short, the first film from Independent Artists Collaborative and featuring the music of alt-pop favorite Sirsy, can be viewed on YouTube, MySpace, and On the Lot. Breaking Up and Chasing Fate on Rhode Island Public Access

Jeff Burns's short films Breaking Up and Chasing Fate were featured on The Mike Messier Show throughout the month of March. The public access show is seen throughout the state of Rhode Island late Friday nights and in Providence and Kent Counties on Saturday nights. Ruff Cutz Report

Two of Knightsfall Productions's films - Chasing Fate and Breaking Up - had very successful screenings at the Ruff Cutz Indie Film Conference. The first of what's to be an annual event was held February 24-25 in Boston. Over forty independent short films screened at the conference. Both Chasing Fate and Breaking Up received excellent responses from the audience. Thanks to Jamie Benti and Image Icon Entertainment for putting on the event.

Breaking Up in Ruff Cutz Indie Film Conference

Knightsfall Productions now has two films that will screen as part of the Ruff Cutz Indie Film Conference. Breaking Up joins Chasing Fate as part of the inagural festival/conference in Boston on February 24-25. Over forty independent films will screen over the weekend, which will also include some great panel discussions and networking events. It's sure to be a great event! Breaking Up to Screen at Upstate Independents

Jeff Burns's latest short film, Breaking Up, will screen on Tuesday, February 6 at the monthly meeting of Upstate Independents, an organization of filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, and media artists in the Capital Region of New York. The short is the first production of Independent Artists Collaborative, a new group of actors and filmmakers based in Kingston, NY. The film stars Christina Vinsick and Evan Leone and features music by Capital Region alt-pop favorite Sirsy. The meeting, which is open to all, starts at 6:30 p.m in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium at Hudson Valley Community College, 80 Vandenburg Ave., Troy, NY. Four other short films will screen that evening, so it will be a great night of independent films!

Chasing Fate Selected to Ruff Cutz

Knightsfall Productions's short film Chasing Fate has been selected to screen as part of the first ever Ruff Cutz Indie Film Conference in Boston. The conference will feature panels and seminars on various aspects of filmmaking and screenings of independent films. The event takes place Feburary 24-25 at the Holiday Inn, 1200 Beacon Street, Brookline, Massachusetts (just outside of Boston).
